Project brief & summary
The vision for this project was to transform the ground floor into a seamless open-plan kitchen, dining and social space, incorporating a discreet yet functional small workspace. The clients wanted a layout that encouraged connection — between cooking, dining and relaxing — while also opening fully onto the garden through expansive bifold doors.
Natural light was essential. The room needed to feel bright, airy and welcoming throughout the day, with a strong visual link between the interior and exterior spaces.
Stylistically, the brief centred around a warm industrial aesthetic softened with contemporary detailing. The clients were drawn to layered textures, honest materials and subtle contrasts, but without the space feeling overly raw or harsh.
Technology was also at the forefront of the brief. High-performance appliances and integrated innovations were key requirements, ensuring the kitchen delivered on functionality as much as design.
The goal was a cohesive, light-filled environment that balanced social living, practicality and modern industrial character.
